Establishment of the Korean Tea Museum in Botjae
A special tea museum and tourist complex is being organized and built and linked with a special website shopping mall that offers a one-stop Internet system that connects consumers, tea plantations, home-stay and tourist hotels.
Establishment of a Green Tea Processing and Distribution Company
Starting in May, 2009, a complex will be completed that produces and sells green tea products from Boseong in the entire area comprising land plot No. 310, Bongsan-ri Bongsan-eup. The complex will purchase only tea leaves from plantations that have passed a chemical analysis.
PR, Promotion and Differentiation of High Quality Boseong Green Tea
- Establishing a ‘Quality Management Standard’ for Boseong Green Tea to maintain consistent quality.
- Quality Management Standard: Special institutes and tea producers collaborate to establish the standard for each product type such as steamed tea leaves, pan-fired tea leaves and steamed and pan-fired tea leaves. The standard will require higher quality than the national standard to differentiate the quality of Boseong Green Tea.

Provision of Green Tea as a School Meal
- To promote green tea as a healthful beverage for school cafeteria meals, a clinical study is now being conducted that started in 2008 by the Bio-Max Institute of Seoul National University.
- Green tea is being provided to schools in the Boseong area as part of the regular school meals.
- Green tea helps counteract toxins that may be ingested as a result of school cafeteria meals and also helps prevent tooth decay. In addition, education of traditional tea culture is being supported in kindergartens and elementary, middle and high schools.
